Vintage Taxidermy Butterflies in Pair of Cased
This is a beautiful pair of vintage cased taxidermy butterflies. A striking pair with double sided glass case so you can see the full 360 of the butterflies. These are from the collection of Chris Cornell a specialist in natural history and taxidermy, he had work displayed at the Museum of Natural History in London.
The top orange and yellow butterflies are Phoebis avellaneda is a species only found in Cuba. The bottom butterfly looks most similar to the Scarce Swallowtail which despite its name is fairly common in the East Palearctic realm and in most of Europe with the exception of the northern parts. I'm sure with some research they will uncover more interesting facts and knowledge. A great pair of showpieces which can also be used for study.
